The board of Finalpha is based in diverse experience and expertise in asset management. David Moos, our chief asset management specialist, leads the board with executives Patrick Viallanex, Denis Faure, and Phillippe Sarica.

Stephen FERLY

CEO

After over two decades of sales and marketing development within major European and Global Investment Management groups (Amundi, ODDO BHF and La Française), Stephen founded Princeps Advisors, an independent advisory venture, in 2019.

In early 2020, Stephen joined Finalpha’s Supervisory Board and subsequently undertook the role of Business Development Director for the Company.

Stephen is a seasoned sales and marketing professional in the Investment Management business. He has notably grown top-class skills in opening new markets and designing tailor-made solutions for demanding investors.

Stephen is a postgraduate in Finance from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) as well as a postgraduate (DEA) in Applied Mathematics with Economics from La Sorbonne University. Stephen is also a Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA).

Denis Faure

Senior Advisor

Denis has spent over 30 years in financial markets selling fixed income products to institutional investors at firms including Raymond James (Senior Vice President), Tradition, Mizuho Group (Head of Fixed Income Sales to French Investors), Banque Pallas and Banque Paribas. He graduated from Sciences Po Paris and holds a D.E.A in banking and finance from the University of Paris-Nanterre. Denis is also Treasurer of the French Protestant Church in London (established by Royal charter in 1550) and Trustee of the Huguenot Trust.

Dimitri Boismare

After more than fifteen years of experience in asset management within international leaders such as BNP Paribas, Rothschild & Cie Gestion, as well as entrepreneurial companies, Dimitri co-founded PREVAL and more recently VENN Capital, a company specialized in the development of innovative equity strategies, based on the concept of collective intelligence.

Dimitri joined the Supervisory Board of Finalpha in 2022. He brings extensive experience in fund selection and a deep understanding of strategic asset allocation issues. He has developed innovative tools in behavioral finance and its applications in the field of asset management.

Patrick Viallanex

Patrick Viallanex has over fifteen years of experience in the management and organization of financial networks, particularly in the institutional sector (insurance, retirement, provident, mutual insurance, associations, foundations). Viallanex has also spent over a dozen years participating in the field of academic research, specifically in market finance and corporate finance.
Viallanex was Director of Operations and Risk at the Ag2r La Mondiale Investment Directorate (2013-2015).

He was previously Managing Director of Agicam (Ag2r La Mondiale portfolio management company) and member of the Management Board of Prado Epargne (Ag2r La Grenoble employee savings company) (2004-2013). In 1999, he joined the Isica group as Director of Finance and Accounting and became Chairman of the Management Board of Isica Epargne, which was transformed into Agicam during the merger of the Ag2r and Isica groups in 2003.

From 1989 to 1998, he pursued a career as a researcher, both in France (Aix-Marseille III University, Euromed) and internationally, in Switzerland (University of Geneva, HEC) and in Canada (University of Québec in Montréal).

Patrick Viallanex is a graduate in Economics and holds a DEA Money-Banking-Finance degree from Aix-Marseille III University.

Philippe Sarica

Senior Advisor

Philippe was general manager and director of Groupe Monceau Assurances. He graduated with a doctorate from l’Ecole Doctorale d’Economie de Paris I-Sorbonne. He is the author of a thesis in economics from l’Ecole Doctorale de Paris-I Sorbonne titled, “Selection of asset managers: the emotional finance connection”. Philippe is a financial advisor and professor in emotional and behavioral finance. Philippe teaches a course in the selection of financial managers at SFAF within the CIWM certificate (Certificate International de Wealth Management).

David Moos

Founder

David co-founded Finalpha (originally Finenza) in 2008 after working as Director of Sales for the firm IT Asset Management. David has accumulated 14 years of sales and marketing experience during which he collaborated closely with French and Italian investors in the fund industry.

Before 2001, he was a Senior Forex Trader at Crédit Agricole Group. Outside of investment, David assumed roles as the treasurer of the Institut Andre Neher, the president of a local NGO, and as a board member of two Microfinance institutions, Chamroeun (Cambodia) and MicroFinance Solidaire (France).

David graduated from both L’Institut Supérieur de Gestion (Paris) and Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (Paris). Additionally, he spends his free time skiing, running and reading history. David is married and has four children.
